The ARC Daily Intelligence Rundown

The industrial renaissance has a fantastic investment deck and a growing list of logistical inconveniences. Freeport is spending $4.5 billion on copper, Lockheed is expanding missile production, and manufacturers are buying machines to build more machines. Meanwhile, Utah has oil it can't easily ship, heavy-duty truck orders are down 45%, and Owens Corning's roofing business is getting demolished by a housing market that refuses to cooperate. Data centers are losing local elections, too. The capital is available, the ambition is enormous, and the physical world remains stubbornly unimpressed. You can finance a factory in an afternoon. Building an economy around it is another matter.
